I write about the past, present, and future of technology across three sites. imapenguin.com explores retro computing and programming fundamentals, milkcrunch.com covers modern software development and engineering culture, and evadot.com examines commercial spaceflight and the new space movement.

- I have a friend who wants to start a new business with me. He just sent me mock-ups hand drawn on graph paper. This is my love language.
- Short bed truck problems.
- Okay, FORTH language people, what problem areas is FORTH particularly well suited for? I'm past the super beginner stages and ready to apply it to a problem area to see how I feel about it.
- Godspeed Kevin
- Four mile walk and wrote 833 more words on a position paper for a DevSecOps industry strategy before 8am so I rewarded myself with a random game on the VIC-20. Rod's Random Runner Picked Splatform which is one of my favorites. What are the chances?! Happy Wednesday!
- I’m sure quite a few people were sitting sipping some morning coffee, wondering if there was a good cheat sheet for SpeedScript. Well, Compute Gazette May 1987 has your solution. Happy Tuesday!
- Mint in the box. And certified for freshness. Maybe there’s some 1990s air trapped inside.
- Sure it's crazy easy to create visuals these days, but why did it somehow used to seem cooler even if it's not as accurate?
- Morning workout route never disappoints even if the fog is obscuring the mountains.
- My morning reading combo. These go together right?
- It’s a hard knock life
- Made a minor adjustment to get the 10PRINT in Forth from @8BitShowAndTell 's 64FORTH video adapted to VICFORTH on the Commodore VIC-20. Using VICFORTH itself as the source of randomness which starts at $A000 on the VIC. Nifty.
- This is a quirky and interesting Forth implementation. Gonna try some frequency distribution on it to see if it'll work for some of my silly crypto on 8 Bit work
- Still my favorite writing setup (besides a typewriter). HP Thin Client I paid $10 for running DOS and WordPerfect 6. I use a 3.5 inch floppy drive to move documents on and off of it just because I like it.
- VIM on DOS… interesting. I’m here for the WordPerfect but I’m intrigued.
- I’d like to announce that I’m also forking RedHat. I’m starting with a slightly earlier version (the last time it was good).
- Whelp, this is a good start. I have two working spares. Now to wire it up on a breadboard to reverse engineer. But first, we read the datasheets! #RTFM
- Sigh. Mounted my Corsham KIM-1 clone on plexiglass. Had this project on my list for months and cracked it on the last hole. Can’t win em all.
- That’s a weird place for a loose connection. At least it’s easy to get to. Happy Monday
- And now we do the dance of joy. A lot of folks are into this new Cart for the games, but I’m here for this menu.
