I might have to hug a VIC-20 after this

Someone gave me a Sinclair 1000 because they couldn’t get it to work. I’m literally losing my ZX virginity here. Never even touched one in real life. Before even cracking the case I noticed the power supply they were using is putting out 14v. Seems excessive.

‪The keyboard ribbon cable is broken and I ordered a replacement. The RF Demodulator on my VCR doesn’t like the signal coming out of it and pinning out the Z80 and ULA it looks to me like it’s running. Going to do a composite mod while I wait for the keyboard replacement to see if I can at least confirm it boots. ‬

I haven’t gotten to the composite mod yet, but that looks like a valid RF video signal to me.
