On the laptop prowl
I’m on the prowl for a new lightweight Linux laptop. When I’m not in the office, I do 99% of my day job by remoting into my desktop with SSH over @Tailscale, so I don’t need 64GB of RAM. I like having one environment so I don’t spend too much time task-switching with things like, “Wait, is this repo synced on the machine I’m on?”
My key drivers are a long battery life and a great keyboard. Basically, I’m after a smart terminal. I’ve been using a MacBook Air for this, but I’m sensing that I might want to reduce my dependency on the Apple ecosystem.
