Too head down?

Been working on a serial protocol for this 6502 cluster for some time. Works fine. Sometimes, you can get stuck on what’s in front of you. I’ve got 8K of free address space. I could share that between them. AND the address headers are stacked right on top of each other. Have I approached this the wrong way? Deep Tuesday thoughts…
