Amazon is currently running a preorder sale on both the Single and Family pack OS X Leopard packages. I just picked up a Family pack for $169 after rebates, no sales tax and free shipping.
The hot dog song
Kevin and I sang a, er, well, very strange song last week…
Welcome to the world Ariella!
My friends Matt and Becky had their first baby last night. Weighing in at 7lbs 1 oz, Ariella enters the world with some of the greatest new parents a kid could have.
Welcome Ariella, and congrats to Matt and Becky.
Fredericksburg Slashdot Anniversary Party
This month, Slashdot turns ten(like 10). I’m user number 12353 which is pretty early on the nerd-o-meter. I used to be an avid reader, but my readership has waned of late. “Back in the day” (think 1999) it was not uncommon for me to check Slashdot every 10 minutes to see what news had broken.
The slashdot format was one truly innovative when it was launched and it helped usher in the era of user interaction on the internet.
Anyway, some people (me included) are doing an anniversary party on Oct 23. Signup and details are here.
Back from vacation and on the prowl
We had a great time in Virginia Beach and I’ve got a new energy and 1000 ideas. We forged some new friendships, stengthened some existing ones and had a ton on family time not really doing anything at all.
Doesn’t get any better than that.
I’m on the prowl for partners to execute these new ideas.
On Vacation
I’m on vacation this week in Virginia Beach. The weather is great, kids are wet and sandy.
Life is good. Email me if you need anything because my cell is turned off. I’ll get to it at some point…
I’m adding a word to the english dictionary
because it annoys my wife.
It’s: Fantacula

Make it easy for me to unsubscribe please
I’ve had the same email address for about 10 years now. As a result, it’s on a ton of mailing lists, marketing databases, and spam lists. Google Apps does a great job on the spam, but I just spent the last 30 minutes unsubscribing from about 30 email lists.
Some were easy to get off of. Kudos to 37Signals and Facebook. Others were almost impossible. If you’re an email list admin, can you do the world a favor and make it as easy as a single click to unsubscribe?
Please!!
Maybe “suck” doesn’t mean what you think it means
I stumbled on this in the Urban Dictionary today:
“
Not good. Bad. The early Jazz musicians would say that a guy could really “Blow” if he had a good sound when playing the horn. If he couldn’t play very well then they would say that he was “Sucking” on that horn. That’s where the term “Suck” as being something bad came from. He plays that horn so poorly that he must be sucking on it. He doesn’t blow, he sucks. |
“
Maybe “suck” doesn’t mean what you thought. Pretty cool.
