Some sites are talking about a press conference being set up on Thursday to talk about what they are calling “Evidence of Water on the Moon - Lots of It”. If you’re not a space geek, let me back up a second since NASA isn’t even on most people’s mind these days and fill you in on what’s going on.

The short short version.

We’ve had this space shuttle since the 1980’s. Technologically amazing, but pretty boring from an exploration standpoint. As a result, the fine folks at NASA have performed amazing feats of technological greatness and the public has met this with a collective “ho hum”.

Apparently, it’s like a vagina, or alcohol, or a Chinese road. Yep one of those. Doc Searls has the skinny.

I think the internet doesn’t really exist, but what do I know.

People are wierd.

Microsoft commercials, good riddance Seinfeld

Microsoft finally came to their senses and dropped those stupid Seinfeld/Gates ads that left everyone scratching their heads. The new ones are a direct dig on Apple’s Mac/PC ads (finally) and have some interesting tidbits like “I’m a human being, not a human doing, not a human thinking. A human being”.

A least these are interesting. Microsoft still looks like they want to be the cool kids but know that Apple actually is, but at least these are direct and don’t involve shoe stores or and underwear adjustment by Gates.

I’ve had a Cannon ZR200 digital camcorder for a couple of years now. It’s worked great.A few weeks ago it started rejecting tapes with a loud beeping sound. I tried a few things, nothing worked. We went on vacation without it where I got oil inside my Cannon point and shoot and water in my son’s Nintendo DS (both ruined).

I just sat down to look at this ZR200 again and googled the problem. More than 10 forums reported the same problem with this camera. The solution: » Turn camera on side - thump on side opposite the screen. «

Of course, it’s a dual core machine, so it’s really more like 142/2. I don’t know why, but I think that’s funny.

Yes, I’m a dork.

One of those funny things someone created when they were probably in a boring meeting, or drunk, is Naked CSS Day. Yes, this is the day when you’re supposed to switch off your CSS on your sites and let them roam around in the buff.

Alas, I have missed this day once again (it was yesterday), so I’m off in search of something else to make naked and create my own naked day.

Then you vow to take a trip here with them at the first opportunity.

Then, when in doubt, ride the Monorail!

I’ve determined that I just need to get it in my head to learn how to read better on the screen. I have a ton of books I bought in both PDF and in paper format and more often than not need to read the PDF version because that’s what I’ve got with me.

It’s just soooo hard for my brain.

Of course this makes no sense at all, I read hundreds of News items via my RSS reader every day. I read and answer hundreds of emails, write code, configure systems, write documentation, etc and all on my screen.

It’s currently in Indianapolis IN and will be here this afternoon. It’s traveling about 1200 miles to be delivered to an address 40 miles from the originating address.
